We sold the house and now we're on the move, living full-time in our caravan. Deb and I have embraced a more mobile lifestyle, travelling around New Zealand and exploring new places as we go. With no fixed address, every day brings a new view and a fresh experience — from quiet coastal spots to scenic rural hideaways. It’s a big change from the old routine, but we’re loving the freedom, simplicity, and adventure that come with life on the road.

We're still loitering around the Wellington and Rangitīkei areas—mainly because of a few prior commitments and some family duties. While we're here, we're making the most of it: getting new glasses so we can finally read road signs before we’ve passed them, and sorting out some shiny new dentures so we can chew our food and smile without scaring the locals. Just a bit of life admin before we roll on to the next adventure!.

We’ve got our sights set on the mighty South Island from October through to the end of January—four glorious months of exploring, eating, and probably getting lost at least once or twice (intentionally, of course). The plan? To soak up as much of the South as we can, from the rugged coastlines to the snow-capped peaks, with plenty of delicious detours along the way. First stop: Kaikōura, where I’ll be indulging in as much crayfish as my wallet (and my cholesterol levels) will allow. Deb will be having fish or a salad as she does not eat crayfish. .
